Aliyah visited the group, bringing back glazed and fired tiles that were made before the summer. Each tile has one or more sprig moulds of cast foods and a community curators name. Aliyah tested out different glazes and colour combinations on the tiles, as a way to explore options for her final installation. With popping bright colours, the individual sprigs were transformed from their plain grey into playful sweet like forms. We worked as a group to help Aliyah glaze more of the bisque fired sprig moulds, testing out mark making and different approaches to applying glaze. The individual sprigs will be used by Aliyah in her final installation, being moulded onto sculptural branches that hang amongst a sea of colourful cups and plates.
