Mental Health Support Teams

Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) in education settings were established and Educational Mental Health Practitioners were created and trained to support children and young people with mild to moderate mental health issues.

Your Trust works in partnership with Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale (HMR) Mental Health Support Team to deliver a universal offer to children and young people. This includes:

  • Mindful Movements programme – a six-week course available to all year groups, which uses physical activity and wellbeing workshops to explore mental health and develop strategies to cope with our feelings and emotions.
  • Social Prescribing – working alongside the Educational Mental Health Practitioners, children can be referred to Your Trust to look at physical, social or creative opportunities to support mental health and wellbeing
  • Wellbeing Days – children are able to access creative and physical opportunities to support wellbeing during the school holidays
  • Wellbeing Ambassadors

Your Trust currently delivers programmes to predominantly support primary aged children, however we are developing our programmes to suit young people in high school and further education. If you would like to explore this further with us and enquire about opportunities within your school, please get in touch by emailing leighanne.carnall@yourtrustrochdale.co.uk
