Rochdale’s history of Celebrations – from Rochdale Carnival to Wake’s Week, Ukrainian Easter parades and Freehold community festival.
Our staple foods of grains and tubers (wheat, rice and potatoes). Material was found that included Lancashire dialect for potato dishes to hand held crinkle chip cutters and industrial machinery manufactured in Rochdale for commercial fish and chip shops, school canteens and local restaurants.
Using photographs from the collection at Local Studies alongside objects from Touchstones museum collection the group created layered, colourful and engaging collages that mark the start of our process of deciding upon our final museum displays.
