Your Trust is proud to be involved in the launch of a new programme exploring how artists and youth workers can work collaboratively to improve cultural education opportunities for a diversity of young people across Rochdale.

The programme has been developed by Create Rochdale, a network of organisations and individuals who represent the education, youth, and arts and culture sectors in the borough of Rochdale. Their aim is to ensure that all children and young people living in Rochdale have access to high quality cultural education.

Create Rochdale has been looking at what they can do to remove barriers and bridge gaps between children and creative experiences. They identified a need for more training and support for local artists who want to work and co-create with young people. Rochdale Youth Services also want to develop the skills and experience of their youth workers and provide opportunities for them to work alongside and learn from artists.

Through collaboration and conversation, they have developed a new programme that responds to these needs and provides Rochdale youth workers and artists the opportunity to share their knowledge, skills and experience over a twelve month period.

Thanks to funding from the Cultural Development Fund, Create Rochdale are able to pay freelance artists to take part in the programme. Anyone interested in joining should submit an expression of interest before 5pm on Thursday 14 December.

For more information about the opportunity and how to express your interest, download the Call Out For Artists here.
