Junior Sports Leadership

The Junior Sports Leadership Award is a great introduction to leadership skills. It gives pupils the skills and confidence to organise small activities and deliver quick and easy games. Pupils can use the skills and knowledge they have learnt completing this award to deliver activities at breakfast, lunch time or afterschool clubs, break times, intra and inter school competition and sports weeks.

Children will develop leadership skills such as organisation, communication, team work and innovation, as well as develop their confidence in leading, decision making and interacting with others.

The course consists of 5-6 hours of guided learning and is aimed at children in year 5 & 6.

What will you receive?

  • All children will receive a leadership log to help them to complete the course
  • Ongoing support to encourage children to utilise their leadership skills within school
  • All children will receive a certificate

 

Sports Leadership Qualifications

Sports Leadership qualifications help to equip young people with experiences to get them ready for work and ready for life. From planning and leading an event in their school or local community,  to managing themselves and others in further education or their first job, this qualification offers a solid foundation in the transferable skills they need to move from education to employment.

The below qualification in Sports Leadership offers a blend of theory and practical experience, giving learners multiple opportunities to put into practice the leadership skills they develop as part of the progamme.

  • Level 2 qualification in Community Sports Leadership
  • For pupils 13 years +
  • 24 hours of tutor time
