#Thrive

One in five children experience mental health difficulties and half of mental health issues develop by age 14. The most common mental health problems among young people are emotional disorders, including anxiety and depression.

Do you have children or work with children who are feeling worried, angry or upset? Struggling to cope? Stressed about school or exams? Experiencing bullying or relationship worries? Or are they just feeling a bit low and not enjoying things?

Lots of young people can feel this way. Getting the right support as soon as possible can help them to feel better, enjoy life and achieve the things they want to.

Who’s eligible?

#Thrive is a service for children and young people aged up to 19-years-old who are experiencing social, emotional or mental health and wellbeing issues. Children and young people must live, or be registered with a GP, in the Rochdale Borough to be eligible.

Who runs the service?

The service is run by Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with Your Trust and offers lots of different types of support to help with emotional health and wellbeing issues, as well as improve general lifestyle.

What’s included?

Alongside more traditional types of support such as one-to-one or group counselling, Your Trust are able to support young people through access to social, physical and creative activities. Activities such as multi-sports, gym, swimming, walks and cycling are available, as well as linking children and their families to community activities local to them.

Feedback

“Two young people who did not know each other previously have formed a great friendship since starting the junior fitness session. They could not wait to attend again, and each week greet each other with hugs and fist bumps and their friendship is really blossoming.”

“One young person sadly lost one of their parents at the start of the summer holidays, however they still wanted to continue to attend the wellbeing days as they said that continuing with routine whilst seeing friends is helping with their grief.”
