This August, Side-by-Side is coming to Rochdale! Expect a jam-packed creative programme of making, playing, healing and sharing – curated and crafted by you our vibrant communities across the borough.

We need your support to make Side-by-Side the best it can be! Join us between 12pm 18 March and 12pm 25 March to help us raise vital funds for our project – and see your donation doubled!

This year, Touchstones (part of Your Trust Rochdale) has been selected to take part in The Big Give Arts for Impact. This means that any donation you make to our charity during the Arts for Impact campaign (via our dedicated The Big Give webpage) will be generously doubled by the Big Give’s Champions!

Your one donation will make double the difference! As a charity, we are aiming to fundraise £2,000 in just one week – and these funds will be used to make Side-by-Side even bigger and better!

Your donation will help even more people take part in Side-by-Side! Through our ‘What Would You Do?’ call-out, we’re inviting anyone and everyone across Rochdale to share their creative ideas. Your support will help turn these ideas into reality, ready to be experienced and enjoyed by us all during Side-by-Side this Summer!

Amy, Your Trust Fundraising Manager, says:

We know that sometimes art and creativity can feel like “something that’s for other people” or just “not a bit of me”. That’s why we can’t wait to show the great things that can happen when our community comes together to work ‘Side-by-Side’!

We want to showcase what creativity can really look like – all the way from life-drawing, ceramics, poetry and dance, to DJing, cooking, tight-rope walking, and dog-friendly afternoons! The possibilities really are endless! We will explore together what creativity can really mean – and what a difference it can make to how we feel about ourselves, our local area and the people around us.

In the months leading up to the festival, there are so many opportunities to get involved in shaping Side-by-Side. This includes the chance to propose an event or activity to become part of the programme through our “What Would You Do?” call-out. Or, if you are able to, liking, sharing or donating to our charity’s @BigGive #ArtsForImpact campaign to help us reach our target and make our plans a reality!

Every donation, no matter the size will help us reach our goal – and could even be doubled by our partners at The Big Give!

Thank you so much.”

So, get the 18-25 of March in your diary and get ready to visit our dedicated @BigGive #ArtsForImpact page to make double the difference!

More About the Campaign

Big Give is partnering with New Philanthropy for Arts & Culture (NPAC), a network of arts supporters who are passionate about increasing philanthropic support of the arts and culture sector, to launch our inaugural Arts for Impact campaign aimed at supporting arts and culture charities working to achieve societal impact across the UK.

The campaign will see the public’s generosity multiplied, as donations to the participating charities will be doubled by the Big Give’s Arts for Impact match fund, which has been supported by generous ‘champions’, typically philanthropists, foundations or companies. It’s a simple idea- when the public donates to a charity through Big Give, we ask funders (philanthropists, foundations or corporates) to match that donation. So £50 from a member of the public becomes £100 for a good cause.

Match funding is provided by a range of philanthropic organisations, called ‘Champions’ including The Reed Foundation, The Arts Council and many others.
