Winners announced for win a holiday prize draw
Four health and fitness enthusiasts have each won a £250 holiday voucher after signing up for health and fitness memberships with us.
Earlier this year, we ran a competition with each new member joining Heywood Sports Village, Littleborough Sports Centre, Middleton Arena or Rochdale Leisure Centre, being entered into a prize draw with a chance to win the Love2Shop holiday vouchers.
Chris Coleman, our Director for Operations, Commercial & Wellness, says: “We are delighted for our winners who have chosen to join us on their health and fitness journeys for a variety of reasons.
“This is just one example of us giving back to our local community. As a registered charity, we reinvest everything we earn to encourage more people to live healthier and more enriched lives. It is a small token of appreciation to our worthy winners for entrusting us with that responsibility, and we hope they all enjoy their well-earned breaks.”
Our four winners are:
- David Collins – Heywood Sports Village.
- Richard Whaley – Rochdale Leisure Centre.
- Sharon Jones – Middleton Arena.
- Jayden McKendrey – Littleborough Sports Centre.
Each winner has now received their voucher, with three of them still undecided where to venture, while David says he plans to take his wife, Karen, on a weekend away to London.
David joined our Heywood centre in June following joint replacement operations on both knees, starting with falls prevention classes, progressing to gentle exercise then to a personal programme from the gym team. He says he’s gone from walking 200 metres to five miles since joining us.
He adds: “I love the centre and all the staff who have helped me improve my health and wellbeing. I can’t thank everyone enough for all the support and encouragement.”
Richard also joined in June, to tone up while son Lewis (7) enjoyed after school lessons at Rochdale Leisure Centre.
He now trains in the gym there three times a week and says the strength work is massively helping his physiotherapy for a trapped nerve in his neck which has developed over time.
Sharon says she joined Middleton Arena to feel healthier and fitter and adds: “I was thrilled when I found I’d won – I’ve never won anything before!”
She loves swimming and will be using her voucher to treat her two children, Daisy and Ryler, aged six and four respectively, to a trip away.
